HISTORY

Established as a charity in 1994, Ren Ci Hospital & Medicare Centre provides medical, nursing, allied health, psychosocial support and counselling to patients, regardless of race, religion or background.

Today, the spectrum of care encompasses the Ren Ci Community Hospital, Ren Ci Long-Term Care (chronic sick) and Ren Ci Nursing Home.

The first hospital was first located at Buangkok View and currently housed 174 chronic sick beds. In 1999, we expanded and occupied the Pavilion Wards located at Jln Tan Tock Seng. Now it is the Home for the 120 nursing home residents. On 1st December 2008, Ren Ci Community Hospital started operations and has 123 community hospital beds and 154 chronic sick beds. We are also serving more than 300 Home bound patients.

In 2002, Ren Ci became ISO certified and was one of the few charities in Singapore that provides high quality and affordable intermediate & long-term care services for the community based on the principles of loving kindness and compassion.

As a charity, besides receiving subvention from the Ministry of Health, we also need canvassing for public support and donations. We attempt all fundraising activities such as Flag Day, selling of mooncakes, organising charity dinners and auction items during festive seasons.

There are two anchor fundraising events: Ren Ci Vegetarian Food Fiesta and Ren Ci Charity Show. Inception since 2002 and 2003 respectively, these two fundraising has helped Ren Ci to improve the living standards and providing better medical and nursing care to our needy and less fortunate patients.
