   Fairytales come alive at Ren Ci as fancy-dressed cars
parade the roads in style to raise funds for needy patients

Ren Ci Hospital and Ho Bee Group join hands once again

 to raise funds through a driving treasure hunt event

Singapore, 20 November 2011 - Ren Ci Hospital and Ho Bee Group are joining hands once again to raise at least $150,000 for patient care through Ren Ci Drive for Fund 2011. To be held on Sunday, 20 November 2011, the Guest-of-Honor for this year’s event is Dr Amy Khor, Minister of State, Ministry of Health. Dr Khor is also the Mayor of South West District, and the Deputy Party Whip.

“Ren Ci is constantly exploring various innovative ways to raise funds for its patients, and this fun-filled event, which was only launched last year, has proven once again to be well-received among our donors, from the young students to the retirees,” said Mr Chua Thian Poh, Chairman of Ren Ci and CEO of Ho Bee Group.

Besides promising to be more fun and more challenging, Ren Ci Drive for Fund 2011 is also big on showcasing dynamic teamwork as participants, ranging from young primary school students to retirees in their 60s, will work together to explore interesting places in Singapore. In addition to the intense battle of endurance and wits on the roads, participants will have to exercise their creativity to dress-up themselves and their cars under the assigned fairytale theme.

On the day of the event, all participating cars (with up to 4 participants each) will be flagged off at 8am from Ren Ci Long Term Care at Buangkok View. Teams will have up to 5 hours to follow the given clues to hunt for checkpoints and game stations scattered all over the island. At designated stations, points will be awarded according to how well the given tasks are completed or answered. The final destination and finishing point is Ren Ci Community Hospital at Irrawaddy Road. The car with the highest score wins. Not forgetting the creative ones, prizes will also be awarded to the ‘best dressed’ participants and cars.

Ren Ci Drive for Fund’s successful inaugural race in 2010 has inspired the organising committee to bring back this meaningful event with the support and cooperation from sponsors such as Ho Bee Group, Maybank and JP Nelson. Ren Ci Drive for Fund 2011 promises to be twice the fun and excitement. Every donation and effort from the sponsors and participants goes a long way in helping Ren Ci’s needy patients.
