September 29, 2011
| Date: | 15 October 2011 | | Time: | 2.30pm to 5pm | | Venue: | Ren Ci Community Hospital
71 Irrawaddy Road, Level 4, Multipurpose Hall | | TALK 1: IS THERE A GOOD DEATH? How can we make it easier for our terminally ill loved ones to deal with death? What are the various religious and cultural perspectives on death and end of life care? In the first part of the forum, guest speaker Mr Robin Chan Tuck Wai, a Pharmacist by profession and currently completing his PhD in centre of Biomedical Ethics at National University of Singapore, will share some of the interesting experiences and ethical issues in palliative care, in terms of respect, dignity and autonomy. | TALK 2: CARING FOR THE DYING AT HOME Caring for a dying loved one is the ultimate act of love, and it is certainly not easy. Many people choose to die at their own home, supported by family and healthcare professionals known to them. How can we prepare ourselves to provide the highest quality care for our dying loved ones at home? In the latter part of the forum, home care Physician Dr Ng Wai Chong will explore our changing attitudes to death and how we can deliver an integrated and coordinated palliative care plan for patients dying at home. | | CALL 6746 1110 TO REGISTER (Weekdays, 9am to 5pm) | | Registration Fee: $10 per person.
