After working as a health beat reporter for several years, I wanted to bring myself to a new level of challenge by engaging in more direct work with the sick and suffering. I chose nursing because it would equip me with a set of skills, that will help not only my family and friends, but also a larger cross-section of people, since everyone falls sick at some stage in their lives. I also hope that by helping others, I can help myself grow as a person.
A community hospital would appeal to me more than an acute-care hospital as I prefer a slower paced environment where I hope to spend more quality time with patients. I am especially keen to be part of the new Ren Ci Hospital, Irradwaddy, as it combines Western medicine and TCM in an approach which promises to deliver more holistic care to patients.
