Ren Ci @ Ang Mo Kio
Ren Ci @ Ang Mo Kio is a new purpose-built nursing home, designed to provide greater privacy and allow the residents more autonomy and dignified living in a space-efficient way. It is a pilot by the Ministry of Health to build a robust home and community care ecosystem to support our seniors to age in place and bring integrated aged care services closer to the community. This new nursing home in the community mirrors Ren Ci’s other home at Bukit Batok St. 52 in that the facility features no boundaries to enable sharing of space. The Senior Care Centre will provide rehabilitation and day care services, putting it in line with the Health Ministry’s push to integrate related services that would help support ageing-in-place. The new facility allows our seniors to age in a homely environment that provides dignified and enabling care.
Close to 200 residents from Ren Ci Nursing Home (Moulmein) will be shifting in by September 2017. An open house has been scheduled on Saturday, 12 August 2017 to offer residents in the neighborhood a sneak peek of the new facility.

Household Cluster Living
Ren Ci @ Ang Mo Kio adopts “household cluster-living” environment that gives residents greater level of privacy, dignity and autonomy. The design of the home will allow for “a smaller-scale and more familiar environment to support residents’ activity of daily living, and yet promotes interaction among seniors. Like a home, the setting does not segregate or confine seniors in isolated rooms which may be more challenging in terms of monitoring and care.
Each household cluster has rooms with four beds, a shared living space, activity area, dining area and bathrooms.
Senior Care Centre
The Senior Care Centre extends Ren Ci’s care delivery for the elderly in the community by providing aged care services such as maintenance and dementia day care as well as day rehabilitation to support ageing in place. Rehabilitation is key among the seniors as they face many physical and emotional changes that can affect their level of function and well-being.
At our Senior Care Centre, we pay great attention to helping the seniors regain their functional independence and maintain their sensory well-being through a wide range of social and cognitive activities.
Unlimited Mobility Programme
To get more seniors to stay active and increase their functional abilities, a 12-week pilot exercise regime, the Unlimited Mobility Programme (UMP) was launched at Ren Ci Nursing Home Moulmein in 2016. UMP is a daily exercise conducted by a Kinesiologist and assisted by nurses and volunteers. The motion exercise is specially designed to strengthen the residents’ functional ability incrementally. The aim of UMP is to increase the functional ability of residents to perform self-care through increased physical activity and for those who have the potential to walk, increase their walking tolerance. The exercise proved to be successful as the residents who had participated programme gained strength and improved their walking or standing ability. UMP will be introduced at Ren Ci @ Ang Mo Kio.
