Located in the same building as Ren Ci @ Woodlands nursing home, Woodlands Hospice is jointly operated by Ren Ci Hospital and Woodlands Hospital, in collaboration with Cheng Hong Welfare Service Society (CHWSS). It is the first collaboration of its kind that brings together a public hospital, an experienced charity healthcare provider and a community partner in one integrated hospice care model.
Woodlands Hospice began operations on 1 July 2026 and currently operates with 16 beds. Plans are in place to progressively increase capacity to up to 70 beds in tandem with growing national demand for palliative and end-of-life care services. Over the next six years, it is expected to serve more than 2,900 patients.
Woodlands Hospice represents an integrated care model, combining the medical, nursing and psychosocial expertise of Ren Ci Hospital and Woodlands Hospital. It has thoughtfully curated spaces to support the physical, emotional and psychological wellbeing of patients, families and caregivers.
The hospice includes an activity area, sensory room, family lounge, and personalised patient spaces that promote comfort and meaningful connection. Patients are encouraged to wear their own clothes, spend time with loved ones, and participate in activities that build memories and bring joy.
Programmes such as music therapy, art therapy, spiritual care, special celebrations and volunteer-led activities are part of the holistic care approach. These services help support the whole person and not just the illness, while also offering families and caregivers emotional and practical support.
